Gameplay

Wuchang: Fallen Feathers gameplay bears some resemblance to Dark Souls. Though Wuchang starts off wielding a changdao called Cloudfrost's Edge, she can acquire and wield multiple other types of weapons including various swords, axes, and spears. Each weapon has a light attack, heavy attack, weapon skill unique to the individual weapon, and Discipline tied to the weapon's type. Some weapon Disciplines can also be used to block or parry enemy attacks.

Wuchang also has a Madness meter, which increases if she kills human enemies or dies, and decreases if she kills Feathered enemies. Some skills can be activated at certain levels of Madness. At maximum Madness, when Wuchang dies, her Inner Demon will materialize in the world and attack anyone around it, including Wuchang herself.

Story

During the late Ming dynasty, the region of Shu is devastated by warring factions and plagued by the Feathering, a disease that eventually turns those it afflicts into mindless monsters. A female pirate named Bai Wuchang goes to Shu in hopes of finding an artifact that can revive her dead sister, Bai Yu. However, she is soon attacked by a feathered monster and becomes infected by the same plague, losing her memory in the process. However, she is saved by a Taoist priest. While trying to remember her original mission, Wuchang goes to a temple rumored to have a way to treat the disease.

Wuchang has multiple endings depending on certain choices made through the story.
