WolfQuest
A free-to-play MMORPG where the players take on the roles of wolves. Designed in part by the Minnesota Zoo in an effort to educate on wolf behavior.
Overview
WolfQuest is an educational simulation game that has players assume the roles of various species of wolf, and learn how they communicate with each other and react with the natural envrionment. The game supports a massively-multiplayer world in which several human players, as wolves, fight and cooperate to acquire food and a mate. The game was originally developed to be given away for free by the Minnesota Zoo and through various educational outlets. In 2015, after numerous technical and gameplay improvements to reach "version 2.7", the developers Eduweb made it available as a commercial product for the first time. It would be listed on Steam the subsequent year. The free version is still available, but development is now focused on the commercial game.
