Notable as one of the 'Big 5' Mega Drive shoot 'em ups never to leave Japan and infamous for its high-level of difficulty, UndeadLine has garnered a reputation as one of the most challenging and collectable vertical shooters from its era.

Overview

UndeadLine, or Undead Line, is a horror-themed vertical shoot 'em up from T&E Soft released in Japan for the MSX-2, the Sharp X68k, and the Sega Mega Drive. The game was never localized into English, though a fan translation for the Mega Drive port was completed in 2007. The goal of the game, as the knight Leon, is to stop the leader of the demonic forces from resurrecting one of the four "god weapons" that once nearly destroyed the world. The player is able to select from six stages in any order they choose, and the game has a weapon-switching system similar to Ghouls N' Ghosts.
