Overview

Ultimate Yahtzee is a virtual dice game developed by PCA and published by Hasbro Interactive (later Infogrames) for Windows PCs in December 1996. The first official adaptation of the dice game Yahtzee (Franchise), Ultimate Yahtzee features the classic Yahtzee, with 3D graphics and optional scoring hints, along with four unique variations (Battle, Triple, Painted and Pyramid).

Game Modes

  • Classic Yahtzee - Traditional Yahtzee, with each player taking turns making three sets of dice rolls, holding as much of the five dice as they want between rolls, and marking which category to score the result with.
  • Triple Yahtzee - Scoring card is changed so that there is three of each category, with one of them scoring double and one of them scoring triple. Based on the real-life variant of the same name.
  • Battle Yahtzee - Two-player variant, with both players taking turns with sets of five colored dice (one set green and one set red). One player makes their three "green dice" rolls; but before they score, the other player makes their three "red dice" rolls, with the third roll allowing them to knock the rolling red dice into the green dice to affect their result.
  • Painted Yahtzee - Each dice now has different colors for each side (blue, red, purple, green, and yellow), and the score card now has a middle section (one for the total value of each color and a second bonus category) and a revised lower section (with four-of-a-kind, four-of-a-color, full house, color house, rainbow, straight, flush, Yahtzee, and Palette).
  • Pyramid Yahtzee - Replaces six-sided dice with four-sided pyramid-shaped dice, and changes the score card to match.
