Overview

Simple 2000 Series Vol. 1: The Table Game, also known as Simple 2000 Series Vol. 1: The Table Game - Mahjong, Igo, Shogi, Card, Hanafuda, Reversi, Gomoku Narabe, is a virtual board and card game collection developed by Yuki Enterprise (Company) and published by D3 Publisher for the PlayStation 2 (Platform) in Japan on May 31, 2001. The first PS2 entry in D3's Simple (Franchise) series of budget-priced games, The Table Game is a collection of 11 traditional Japanese board and card games, developed by the studio behind some other "table" games for the PS1 (including The Reversi 2, The Igo 2, and The Hanafuda 2). The game also features a single-player Story Mode, where the player is mysterious brought to the fantasy world of Burun Kingdom. As a bonus, players can use their winnings to customize their own castle. It later received a handheld adaptation for the PlayStation Portable (Platform) on December 29, 2005 as Simple 2500 Series Portable!! Vol. 1: The Table Game - Mahjong, Igo, Shogi, Card, Hanafuda, Reversi, Gomoku Narabe. Although this version does not include a Story Mode, it does include reworked visuals and wireless multiplayer. It also received a spin-off as part of the 10th volume of the Simple 2000 series, where it's known as The Table Game Sekai-hen ("World Volume") and was released overseas as Ultimate Mind Games.
