Overview
Tetris: The Grand Master 4 - Absolute Eye is a falling-block puzzle game developed and published by Arika for the PC (Platform) on April 3, 2025.
The fourth mainline entry in the Tetris: The Grand Master spin-off of the Tetris (Franchise) series of puzzle games, Absolute Eye brings the series to PC while adding a new variation of Tetris modes. Certain modes and features of the previous installment, such as the Sakura mode, are not included.
The game was originally in development hell, with multiple location tests for an arcade release in both 2009 and 2015.
Game Modes
The game includes several modes with two operation types: Standard (based on the official Tetris guidelines, including the "Super Rotation System" and immediate lock on Hard Drop) and TGM (based on the earlier games in the Tetris: The Grand Master series, including the "Arika Rotation System" and lock delay on Hard Drop). There are also bonus Practice modes, including some involving playing the same conditions as other replays.
- Marathon (Standard) / Normal (TGM) - Intended for beginner players. Based on their corresponding series' traditional modes, with Marathon being an endless score-based mode (with levels based on line clears) and Normal being a time attack to reach level 999 (with levels based on drops, with certain thresholds on line clears). Normal mode ranked on performance.
- Asuka - Intended for intermediate players, Asuka is a variation of Normal in which tetrominos drop instantly from the start, but can postpone being locked indefinitely by being moved or rotated ("Infinity"). Players can also spend a limited amount of "Back Steps/Rewinds" to redo their previous piece, which can be replenished over time. The game ends after level 1300, and after level 1000, locked pieces become invisible.
- Master - Intended for advanced players, Master is a variation of Normal in which tetrominos drop instantly from the start. At level 300, 500, 700, 800, and 900, the bottom half of the playfield is "frozen" and cannot be cleared until 100 levels are reached). After level 1000, pieces enter the playfield in a random rotation, and after level 1300, the game begins freezing older tiles so they cannot be cleared at all. Players can earn medals in four categories: All Clear (fully clear the board), Tetris (four-line clear), T-Spin (double or triple T-Spin), and Pikii (full "frozen" lines), which affect Level gain.
- Konoha - New to the series, Konoha is a bonus Score Attack mode where every piece is double the size (Big Minos, similar to Beginner's Tetris from Tetris Party (Game)) and players are scored based on how many All Clears are performed with a two minute timer. Performing All Clears add to the timer, and can grant bonus illustrations (which can be viewed in the Record menu).
- Shiranui - New to the series, Shiranui is a one-on-one Versus mode against a CPU opponent. Players can unlock harder difficulties by winning matches.
