Plot
A Romulan science experiment gone wrong causes the appearance of the resource rich Tabula Rasa systems in the Alpha Quadrant. Predictably, the United Federation of Planets, the Klingon Empire, and the Romulan Star Empire plot and vie against each other for control of those systems. However, encounters with the Taubat, a more primitive species that worship the relics of a bygone species, soon unravel the ancient secret behind the Tabula Rasa.
