Mark Fisher once wrote in his book Capitalist Realism: Is There No Alternative? that capitalist realism has so captured public thought that the idea of anti-capitalism no longer acts as the antithesis to capitalism. Instead, anti-capitalism is deployed as a means for reinforcing capitalism. This is done through modern media which aims to provide a safe means of entertaining anti-capitalist ideas without actually challenging the system. This upcoming free-to-play party game for mobile devices produced by Netflix is a reflection of that notion, taking a series that was a very direct metaphor about how capitalism forces us all to fight each other to the death while rich assholes watch for their entertainment, and it got turned into a multi-media franchise, including with this game. You hogs will eat the slop anyway.
