The first installment of an ambitious yet unfinished trilogy of JRPGs for the PC Engine-CD.

Overview

Seiya Monogatari: Anearth Fantasy Stories is a JRPG developed by Media Works and Hudson for the PC Engine-CD. Seiya Monogatari roughly translates to "A Christmas Tale" and the game itself was released in Japan the week of Christmas in 1995. The game was originally going to be released in 1994 and was the first installment of a planned trilogy that would have also been released in the same year. However after many delays Anearth Fantasy Stories ended up being the last game Hudson would publish for the PC Engine and the rest of the trilogy was never finished. Hudson and Media Works tried to restart the Anearth Fantasy Stories trilogy in 1997 on the Sega Saturn with a port of the game named Anearth Fantasy Stories: First Volume but it also did not receive a sequel.
