Rox, known in Japan as Rox: 6=Six, is a falling-block, tile-matching puzzle game developed and published by Altron for the Sony PlayStation and Sega Saturn in Japan on October 22, 1998. The PS1 later received a release in Europe by Phoenix Games on May 2, 2003.

Playing similar to games like the Puyo Puyo (Franchise) series, Rox has players manipulating a pair of six-sided dice blocks falling onto a 6×11 playfield to form matches of the same face, where there must be a certain number of blocks in-between them (corresponding to the number on the face). As the game progresses, different colors are added to compilcate things, as all tiles in-between can only be cleared alongside the matching tiles if the matching tiles share the same color. Along with single-player modes, the game includes one-on-one versus multiplayer. It later received a handheld Game Boy Color (Platform) release in Japan on March 5, 1999, with later releases by Titus Interactive in Europe (on March 9, 2001) and North America (on July 2001). This version includes a smaller 6×9 playfield and Game Boy compatibility.

Gameplay

Rox is a falling block/matching game, but with a twist. Each of the blocks is a die which has a number on it. Instead of only matching colors, in this game both the colors and numbers matter. In order to remove dice two end numbers must be the same, with that amount of other dice in between them. For instance if two dice are ones, there must be one die in between them. If both of the end dice are the same color, all of the dice in between will also be erased, however if they are two different colors than only the end dice will be erased.
