Overview

Amazing Learning Games with Rayman, known in Europe as Maths and English with Rayman, is an educational 2D fantasy platformer developed and published by Ubisoft for Windows PCs in 1996. The European release was split into three Volumes, each correlating to the three skill levels. Part of the studio's "Ubi Kids" line, Amazing Learning Games with Rayman is an edutainment spin-off of the 1995 platformer Rayman (Game), focused on several math and grammar topics. There are three "skill levels" in total, with the game intended for ages 6+ for Level 1, 7+ for Level 2, and 8+ for Level 3. Along with a simplified version of the original game's platforming, players now have to solve exercises from the Magician, all of which involve Rayman (Character) entering correct pathways or touching correct objects based on the question. The game's story focuses on Rayman retrieving the Magic Book of Knowledge from the evil Mr. Dark. The game later received a PlayStation (Platform) conversion (co-developed by Aqua Pacific), released in Europe as Rayman Junior on December 15, 2000 and in North America on August 11, 2001 as Rayman Brain Games. Like the PC version, the European release was split into three separate games (each corresponding to the game's three Levels). There were other educational spin-offs of the game in Europe focused on foreign languages in the late 1990's, including French with Rayman, English with Rayman, Spanish with Rayman, and German with Rayman. Some of these releases, like the original, were split into separate releases based on skill level. While all of them were released for PCs, the English release also received PS1 conversions in some regions.
