Rambo: The Video Game is a rail shooter developed by Teyon (Company) and published by Reef for the Xbox 360 (Platform), PlayStation 3 (Platform), and PC on February 21, 2014.
Based on the first three Rambo (Franchise) films (First Blood, Rambo: First Blood Part II, and Rambo III), the game loosely recreates action sequences from each movie in a simple retelling of the story. Set throughout the 1980s, players assume the role of John Rambo (Character), a decorated veteran of the Vietnam War who gets in a manhunt from the Washington (Location) police, gets enlisted back to Vietnam (Location) to rescue POWs, and ventures into Afghanistan (Location) as a mercenary to rescue his mentor, Colonel Sam Trautman.
While it is the third on-rails shooter based on the films (after Taito's 1989 arcade game Rambo III and Sega's 2008 arcade game Rambo), it is the first released on home consoles.
