A-Ressha de Ikou II ("Let's Take the A-Train II") is a railway management game developed and published by Artdink (Company) for the NEC PC-98 and Sharp X68000 (Platform) computers in Japan in 1988. It received a localized overseas conversion for DOS PCs in 1989, released by Seika as Railroad Empire. The second installment of the A-Train series, A-Ressha de Ikou II features an assortment of maps based on various regions throughout the world (America, China (Location), Russia (Location), Japan (Location), and Europe (Location)). The Railroad Empire version only includes America and Europe, although additional maps were advertised in the manual. Like in the original A-Ressha de Ikou, players are tasked with expanding a railway network through construction (directly using the A-Train) and proper scheduling (with both passenger and freight trains, each giving income and resources) in order to connect two distant stations together within a year, so that a VIP Train can make its voyage between the two stations.
