A unique tile-matching puzzle arcade game by Sega where you drop pieces down a hexagonal playfield, over other dropped pieces.

Overview

Poto Poto is a falling-block, tile-matching puzzle game developed and published by Sega (Company) for arcades (using their Genesis (Platform)-based System C-2 hardware) exclusively in Japan on March 1994. A unique take on the traditional falling-block puzzle game genre, Poto Poto has players dropping individual gem-like pieces of different colors down a playfield with hexagonal spaces, jumping over other placed pieces before landing on the first empty space (essentially "building down" instead of "building up", similar to the Bust-A-Move series). Forming a connection of four-or-more of the same color removes those pieces and, like Bust-A-Move, can clear all dangling pieces that only connect to them.
