Overview

Payday 3 (stylized as PAYDAY 3) is a co-operative crime-themed first-person shooter developed by Starbreeze and published by Deep Silver (Company) for the PlayStation 5 (Platform), Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Platform) on September 21, 2023.

A sequel to the long-running Payday 2 (Game).

The game's story takes place sometime after the Payday Gang's retirement and the death of their original handler Bain. After attempted assassinations on them, as well as a seizure of their assets, members of the original crew begin a new crime spree in New York City (Location) to find the conspirator attempting to take them down. Aiding them is their new handler Shade, as well as new and familiar faces giving them missions.

Dallas - Formerly a hitman with an American mafia.
Chains - A former U.S. Navy SEAL and mercenary.
Wolf - A former game developer and Swedish psychopath.
Hoxton - An English criminal.
Joy - A Japanese hacker and renowned cyber-criminal.
Pearl
Houston - Dallas's younger brother. Released as part of the free Houston Character Pack DLC on September 16, 2024.
Jacket (Character) - A ruthless sociopath who talks using spliced phrases on a modified tape recorder. Released as part of the Jacket Character Pack DLC on February 3, 2025 and a guest character from the Hotline Miami (Franchise) series.

Heists

Unlike the non-linear CRIMENET system in Payday 2, the heists in Payday 3 follow a linear story. In addition, each heist can be played in stealth.

Base Game

No Rest for the Wicked - A simple bank robbery.
Road Rage - An armed transport robbery set on Queensboro Bridge, which is under renovation.
Dirty Ice - A diamond store robbery.
Rock the Cradle - A cryptocurrency robbery set in a high-end nightclub.
Under the SURPHAZE - A museum robbery.
Gold & Sharke - A more-elaborate bank robbery.
99 Boxes - An electronic equipment robbery in a warehouse.
Touch the Sky - A penthouse robbery.

Post-Release

First World Bank - A bank robbery and a reimagined version of the heist of the same name from both Payday: The Heist and Payday 2. Released on December 10, 2024.
