A ninja-themed run andamp;amp;amp; gun shooter arcade game released by Sega (Company) in 1985, also known as Sega Ninja. It was one of the first games to feature a strong human female protagonist, in this case a kunoichi, i.e. female ninja. The game was designed by female game designer Rieko Kodama (Person); her later role-playing game Phantasy Star (Game) also had a strong, well-written, female protagonist, Alis Landale (Character). It was soon ported to the MSX (Platform) and Sega SG-1000 home platforms. The Sega Master System (Platform) port was re-titled The Ninja (Game) and featured a male protagonist instead of a female lead.
