Overview

Kotoba no Puzzle: Mojipittan is a word puzzle game developed and released by Namco (Company) for arcades (using their PS1-based System 10 hardware) exclusively in Japan on December 2001. In Mojipittan, players place hiragana characters one-at-a-time on a tiled board to form words (similar to Scrabble (Franchise)), with each of the over 100 boards having their own layout, gimmicks, and objectives. Along with a 5-7 stage single-player mode, the game includes a two-player versus mode. It later received a home release for the PlayStation 2 (Platform) on January 9, 2003, adding a mode where players can freely choose which stage to complete. It received multiple console and handheld sequels.
