Guns Undarkness
A post-apocalyptic RPG with turn-based gunplay, created by Shoji Meguro
A passion project by Shoji Meguro (Person), the lead composer of multiple Persona (Franchise) and SMT soundtracks. Guns Undarkness is a turn-based shooter RPG that takes inspiration from Persona and Metal Gear Solid (Franchise) for the plot and art direction.
Plot
In 2045, advancing technology was supposed to bring forth a new dawn for humanity, but instead dramatically widened the gap between Haves and Have Nots. A group of militaristic primitives calling themselves The Thousand Plateaus triggered a pair of nuclear bombs that sparked a worldwide war, resulting in "The Great Reset," proclaiming their wish to restore the balance by returning the world to a more primitive state.
The Protagonist (named in game) is a rookie member of an American PMC called BTI, trying to handle the worsening situation in their own way. As the story progresses, the Protagonist must discover if love can be found on the battlefield, and if humanity can truly be revolutionized.
Main Characters
- Protagonist - The newest member of BTI's Alpha Team, with a good track record behind him, the Protagonist quickly receives a TAGS suit and is placed in the field.
- Sofia - The only child of the great scientist Dr. Cowen. Despite only being 17 years old, she wants to take over his research in hopes of finishing his work and saving mankind.
- Will - A former USMC soldier, Will provides support in the field with his shotgun for Alpha Team. Surprisingly earnest and well-liked.
- Naomi - A high-spec combat android, but has no problem communicating with humans. She prefers a pistol.
- General Zhang - The leader of the Thousand Plateaus. He proclaims that technology has ruined humanity and that the world should be returned to a more primitive state.
- Leon - An assassin working for General Zhang. His true motives are a mystery. He has superhuman reflexes that can match even soldiers wearing TAGS outfits.
