Overview

Golden Tee Golf is a golf simulation game developed by Incredible Technologies and released by Strata for arcades in 1989. The first in a long-running series of arcade golf simulation games, Golden Tee Golf is best known for its trackball controls, with players simulating a golf swing by spinning the trackball towards them, then spinning it towards the screen. The way each spin is moved determines each swing's power and accuracy. An alternate version of the game was sold with basic joystick and button support (the only arcade game in the series to do so). It features three fictional courses: Royal Links C.C., Sylvan Lakes C.C., and Longwood Golf Course. The game later received an update in 1992, titled Golden Tee Golf II, which replaced all three courses with new ones (Valley Ridge C.C., Willow Creek C.C., and Waterford Links C.C.). It also received numerous full-blown sequels, starting with Peter Jacobsen's Golden Tee 3D Golf.
