Gakkou no Kowai Uwasa: Hanako-san ga Kita!!, loosely translated to "Scary School Rumors: Hanako has Arrived!!" is a comedic-horror first-person puzzle-adventure game developed by Capcom (Company) and published by both Capcom and Amuse (Company) for the Sony PlayStation and Sega Saturn exclusively in Japan on August 11, 1995. It later received conversions for the 3DO (Platform), Pippin (Platform), PC (Platform), and Mac (Platform) by Amuse sometime after. Based on the anime of the same name, Gakkou no Kowai Uwasa tells the tale of a group of schoolkids who, in trying to summon the much-rumored ghost girl Hanako via a haunted payphone, accidentally released various evil spirits. They must now explore their school after dark to find fragments of a broken mirror and seal the demons. Along with first-person exploration, the game includes several puzzle mini-games and players can unlock bonus anime episodes. The game is known or being one of the first two games released by Capcom for both the Saturn and the PS1 (the other game being Street Fighter: The Movie) and for being the debut title from Shu Takumi (Person), who would later be known for the Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney series. The original series later received an episodic mobile game adaptation, which was later compiled into the Nintendo DS game of the same name.
