Dynasty Warriors 3: Xtreme Legends was the first installment of the Xtreme Legends expansions for the Dynasty Warriors game.

Dynasty Warriors 3 Xtreme Legends expanded the concepts of the original Dynasty Warriors 3 (Game) game. Xtreme legends allowed for further customisation of bodyguards by granting the user control over their names and gender. The game also gave story modes to characters that were not members of the three kingdoms (Wu, Wei and Shu) This meant the player could play a full story mode with Dong Zhuo, Diao Chan, Lu Bu, Zhang Jiao, Yuan Shao, Zhu Rong and Meng Hu. The expansion also gave each character a fifth, more powerful weapon.
