Overview
Dirty Pigskin Football is a comedic over-the-top football game developed by Play Mechanix (Company) and published by Sammy for arcades (using Dreamcast (Platform)-based Atomiswave (Concept) hardware) on September 10, 2006. Similar to Midway's NFL Blitz (Franchise) series, Dirty Pigskin Football features a less-realistic, quicker-paced 5v5 arcade style of American football. It is known for its varied teams, including zombies, aliens, vikings, and professional wrestlers. Although the game has not received any home conversions, it later received an unofficial port to the Sega Dreamcast due to the similar hardware.
Gameplay
The game features a four-game "Season", where if players participate in all four matches (paying credits for each of them), they participate in a free fifth "Championship" match against a random team. Depending on how much they won from the four matches, they can be challenged by one of the hidden teams.
