Defender Chronicles: Legend of the Desert King
Defender Chronicles is a side-view tower defense with RPG elements. Gameplay progresses in part by equipping your general, and slowly unlocks a story.
The game takes place on 2D, side-scrolling maps. Monsters move up and down the maps via stairs and ramps, and you designate "towers" by placing guilds - soldiers, archers, mages, etc - at pre-determined spots. Both victory and defeat award tokens that you can use to unlock special features and equipment. You also gain experience, and distribute your skill points amongst your general's attributes as you level up.
