Daitoride
The third game in the Toride series of mahjong solitaire games, changing the mechanics so that players form mahjong-style melds rather than pairs.
Overview
Daitoride, also known as Dai Pai Toride ("Great Tile Fortress", or Dà Pái Zhài), is a mahjong solitaire game developed and released by Metro for arcades in Japan on January 1996. The third game in the Toride series (after Toride II (Game)), Daitoride changes up the matching mechanics by having players form mahjong-style melds of three tiles (either matches or sequences). Players can no longer match pairs and, to compensate for this, they are given eight-tile hands instead of seven-tile hands. The game was later ported to the Sega Saturn on June 28, 1996.
