Cythera is a fantasy role-playing game created by Glenn Andreas and published by Ambrosia Software for the classic Mac platform in 1999.

Overview

Cythera is a Mac-exclusive RPG written by Glenn Andreas and published by Ambrosia Software. It was styled similarly to popular fantasy RPGs, like games in the Ultima and Exile series, but incorporated a scriptable runtime engine called Delver. Delver was intended to support many different types of scenarios, with Cythera being the first commercial release. Unfortunately, Glenn Andreas put his plans for Delver on hold following underwhelming sales after Cythera's release on August 29, 1999.

Plot

In Cythera, the player takes control of a modern-day character who is unexpectedly teleported to a strange land. The player is tasked with saving the king, a powerful ruler who uses his magic to maintain order and protect the inhabitants of Cythera. In order to help the king and prevent the land from collapsing into chaos, the player must venture to all corners of Cythera and combat a growing threat.
