Overview
The Chessmaster 4000 Turbo is a digital chess game developed and published by The Software Toolworks (with Mindscape publishing it in Europe) for Windows PCs and Macintosh computers in 1993. The fourth installment of the Chessmaster (Franchise) series, and the last in the series developed by The Software Toolworks (Company), The Chessmaster 4000 features a brand new chess engine based on Johan de Koning's "The King" (dubbed King 2.0), which takes more advantage of higher-end 32-bit processors. It also features enhanced graphics, new A.I. customization options, new included chess sets and historical game replays, and both modem and LAN multiplayer support. The game's engine was later used for the PS1 console spin-off The Chessmaster 3-D.
