A third-person lateral-moving shooter where you don a heavy-armored battle suit and use three types of heavy weapons to battle an onslaught of aliens and mutated creatures.

Overview

Charge 'N Blast is a sci-fi third-person shooter developed by Sega-AM2 and released by Sega (Company) for arcades (using their Dreamcast (Platform)-based NAOMI hardware) in Japan in 1999.

In Charge 'N Blast, players control a heavily-armored soldier, who uses heavy weaponry to fight a variety of hostile alien forces, including giant bugs and mutated fish creatures. An updated interpretation of games like Cabal (Game), the game combines limited lateral-based movement (similar to games like Space Invaders (Game)) with a crosshair-based lock-on system (similar to games like Panzer Dragoon (Game)) and a three-button system for quickly swapping between, charging-up, and firing three separate weapons.

It later received a Dreamcast (Platform) port by SIMS (Company), released first in Japan on December 7, 2000, then in North America (by Xicat Interactive and Infogrames) on February 7, 2001 and in Europe (by Xicat Interactive) and on June 29, 2001.
