Following success with Dead Island (Franchise), Techland left the IP and went on to start the Dying Light franchise under a different publisher. Dying Light was the first instalment and made use of a day/night system affecting the behaviour of enemies and first-person parkour to create a visceral and open game involving zombie survivor.
