The first Backpacker (Game) game, released in 1995 for PC and Mac, became a huge success in Scandinavia, topping the best selling charts through the end of the 90s, and along with Myst (Game) sold the public on CD-ROM based multimedia products. TATI's Danish sister studioDeadline Multimedia (both owned by BMG/Vision Park and later PAN Vision (Company)) also created their similar Globetrotter (Franchise) franchise in 2001.
