Wind (Concept)

Wind

CONCEPT

Air moving with a considerable force. It's important to take wind into consideration when playing golf.

Overview

The movement of air is called wind. Wind is measured in knots and can be quite powerful. In video games, wind can serve many different purposes. In golf games, attention must be paid to the wind; as golf balls are small and light, wind can make them move in the air. In certain platformers, wind can prevent movement in a certain direction or can propel characters forward. In simulation games, wind also comes into play. In flight simulators, wind force must be checked before flying. In F1 racing games, players must adapt their car to the wind. Even in modern FPSs, wind is important. When taking long distance sniper shots, players must check the wind and lead the target.
