Overview

Walrein first appeared in Pokémon Ruby and Pokémon Sapphire. Their evolutionchain starts with  Sphealwhich at level32 evolves into Sealeo (Concept), who in turn evolves into Walrein at level 44. While Walrein don’t appear in the wild their base form Spheal can be found in Pokémon Ruby ,  Sapphire, and Emeraldwithin Shoal Cave, in Pokémon Pearl while surfing on Route 226 and Route 230, and can also be obtained in the Gamecubegame Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness by snagging it from Cipher Peon Blusix in the Cipher Lab. Walrein’s middle form,  Sealeo, can be obtained in Pokémon  Pearl while surfing on Route 226 and Route 230, and in Pokémon Platinum while surfing on Route 230.

Type Advantages and Disadvantages

Having an  Ice and Water type combination leaves Walrein at a  disadvantage against Grass, Electric, Rock, and Fighting type moves by taking twice the damage the moves normally cause. It also allows them to take only half the damage from Water type moves and only a puny quarter of the damage from Ice type moves.
