Overview
A point of no return, in video game terms, is a point found in otherwise nonlinear games in which the player has no choice but to progress forward in the story when crossed and renders previous game content inaccessible for the remainder of the playthrough. Such points are commonly found late in games and serve as a gate to the endgame content. Some games offer warnings to the player when the point of no return is reached and may advise the player to save the game before crossing it.
