Starting with Pac-Man CE DX, Namco Bandai decided to revisit some Namco (Company) classics such as Galaga (Game) and Metro-Cross (Game), and update them with a modern take on the games' mechanics. Most of the games are in fact not full-fledged remakes or graphical updates, but they tend to start off with the familiar basic gameplay and run with it, e.g. while the original Pac-Man had the player eating dots and avoiding ghosts, Pac-Man CE DX builds on that with getting more ghosts to chase the player so that when Pac-Man eats a fruit and the ghosts turn blue, he can eat a multitude of them and rack up seven-figure high scores.
