Moombas are short, intelligent, and furry beasts of burden that originated in the world of Final Fantasy VIII. They bear some creative resemblance to Pokemon or Red XIII.

Overview
Moombas are one of the most revered forms of life for the race of Shumi, in Final Fantasy VIII. Shumi are an intelligent and cultured humanoid race capable of metamorphic evolution, and many desire to become Moombas by living their lives to a high standard of benevolent humility and purity. Moombas themselves, however, are mostly mute and communicate in an animalistic fashion similar to Chocobos and some Moogles. They are often utilized as beasts of burden by other races and are generally not treated well by inhabitants of the world.
