Founded by an eccentric British entrepreneur, Icaras is a fictional anti-gravity racing team appearing in the WipEout franchise.

First appearing in WipEout 3, the back-story for the racing team seems very much inspired by the Virgin Group and his founder Richard Branson. Created by a British businessman Burnston Burns and sporting pink and magenta colours, the team was put in place in the span of 7 months. Its crafts are easily amongst the fastest on the grid, rivalled only by Piranha (Concept). Unfortunately the team has one great Achilles' heel: its weak shields make it an easy target and prone to elimination. Nevertheless, their unparalleled speed makes them a favourite amongst expert players. Ironically enough, ten years after the release of WipEout 3, Richard Branson would in fact try his hands in the realm of real-life motorsports, in both Formula 1 (Franchise) (2010-2011) and Formula E (2013-present); while the team was a regular back-marker in F1, its Formula E program was much more successful, winning 10 races in 5 seasons.
