IGS PolyGame Master 2
CONCEPT
The short-lived successor to the PolyGame Master, and one of the few cartridge-based arcade systems in the early era of PC-based architecture.

Overview

PGM2 (also known as "PolyGame Master 2") is an arcade system created and released by Taiwanese developer IGS for Asian regions in 2007. The follow-up to their original PolyGame Master (Concept) system, PGM2 revamps the architecture with a proprietary ARM-based processor and co-processor (IGS036 and IGS037). Like the original, it uses inter-changeable game cartridges for most of its game releases (with some sold as a single combined PCB). Both versions are not cross-compatible, and the cartridges are now top-loaded instead of side-loaded (similar to the Taito F3 and Sammy Atomiswave). It was later superseded by the PGM3 in 2012, which was a PC-based system used for only one game (Knights of Valour 3 HD).
