The Falklands War was a period of conflict between the Argentine government, led by Leopoldo Galtieri, and the British Falkland Islands, protected by the British government led by Margaret Thatcher, that lasted for 10 weeks from April to June 1982. The war ended in British victory, Argentine surrender, and Leopoldo Galtieri subsequently losing power.
