The battle system employed by the PS3 game Valkyria Chronicles. It melds turn-based and real-time combat by allowing free movement and attacking during each combat phase via the use of command points.

BLiTZ is an abbreviation of Battle of Live Tactical Zone. After spending the required CP(s) in the Command Mode to a specific unit, the player can control the said unit in Action Mode. During the Action Mode, the player can move the unit around the map and/or performing action(s) (shooting, healing, ect...) through Target Mode. The distance a unit can travel in determined by the AP (Action Point) of that unit and they vary between classes. While most of the time a unit can only perform one action during one Action phrase, later in game, certain perks would allow some individuals to perform more than one action during the same Action phrase. After the player have moved the unit and/or perform the needed action, they can end that Action phrase and return to the Command Mode to spend the remaining CP in the pool to other units.
