What better way to start off a brand new game than to net an achievement before you've even started playing? We'll there are certainly a handful of games that do just that. Sure it can be annoying to get an achievement straight away and then hate the game, leaving you with a measly 5G on your tag for that game but for the most part it's nice to get an achievement straight away. The games on this page will get you an achievement for either starting a new game, watching the intro video or for pressing start. Either way you'll be kicking off a new game one achievement richer.

If you have obtained an online rank of 5 or higher in either Gears of War (Game) or Gears of War 2 (Game), a zero point achievement "Welcome to the Big Leagues" will unlock upon joining your first online lobby, before play begins.
