CONCEPT

Sega's digital distribution system for arcade games in Japan, utilizing the ALL.Net online service.

Overview

ALL.Net P-ras MULTI (APM) is an online digital distribution service for arcade games running Sega's PC-based RingEdge 2 hardware (later their PC-based ALLS UX hardware) from March 14, 2013 onwards. Similar to Taito's NESiCAxLive (Concept) series, APM uses the company's online service (which in Sega's case being ALL.Net) to allow arcade operators to download games to their arcade cabinets (allowing multiple games per cabinet, similar to the Neo Geo MVS). This adds a new requirement for operators in that they must share their revenue directly with Sega (rather than a one-time purchase). Some games are also available with other digital distribution services, like NESiCAxLive. The predecessor to this service is the "ALL.Net P-ras" system, used for first-party titles (the Virtua Fighter 5 (Game) series and Network Taisen Quiz: Answer x Answer), and the original "ALL.Net P-ras MULTI" system, used for third-party titles (Ge-sen Love. ~ Plus Pengo! ~, Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus R (Game), Koihime Enbu (Game), and Under Night In-Birth). Neither of these systems are digital distribution services (using rented DVD-ROM discs), but use the same revenue-sharing restriction.

Version 2

Released on March 14, 2013, ALL.Net P-ras MULTI Version 2 (also known as APM2) is the first digital distribution service and uses Sega RingEdge 2 (Concept) hardware, with some games supporting Aime cards (with Amusement IC card support added with the release of Version 3)

Version 3

Released on April 18, 2019, ALL.Net P-ras MULTI Version 3 (also known as APM3) instead uses more powerful Sega ALLS UX hardware and is used with new arcade housing made from the discontinued dedicated arcade game Soul Reverse (Game). It features touch panel support (which is used for the game switcher menu), Amusement IC card support, headphone support, and USB support (with one port used for gamepads and one port used as a device charging station).
