Founded in 1987 by Eric Matthews, Steve Kelly (Person) and Mike Montgomery (Person), the Bitmap Brothers released a number of highly-regarded games in different genres across a number of platforms.  In 1988 The Bitmap Brothers released their first game, a shoot 'em up called Xenon (Game).  Xenon became the first Amiga (Platform) game to enter the UK top 40 charts, selling over 100,000 copies. Later that year The Bitmap Brothers released a future-sport game called Speedball (Game), an arcade sports simulation, a recipient of many awards.      In 2004 Mike Montgomery (Person) and John Phillips left The Bitmap Brothers to found Tower Studios with Jon Hare (Person).
