In the home computer market, Fujitsu is best known for manufacturing the FM-7 and FM Towns (Platform) computers. These computers were powerful for their time, with large color palettes (from FM-77 AV's 4096 colors to FM Towns' 16.78 million colors) and CD-ROM support (with FM Towns), behind only the Sharp X68000 (Platform) in terms of power. In the arcademarket, Fujitsu manufactured GPU graphics chips that powered various arcade game systems. The Fujitsu MB14241 video shifter chip accelerated the sprite-drawing for early Taito and Midwayarcade games like Gun Fight (Game), Sea Wolf (Game) and Space Invaders (Game). The Fujitsu MB86233 was later used as the GPU for the Sega Model 1, including games such as Virtua Racing (Game) and Virtua Fighter (Game), and then the Fujitsu MB86234 was used as a GPU for the powerful Sega Model 2, including games such as Daytona USA and Virtua Fighter 2 (Game). The Sega Model 2 was the most powerful video game system of the mid-90's.
