A member of Yellowhead gang in Shenmue II. Yuan is referred to as being male in the Japanese version of Shenmue and is therefore a transvestite.

Yuan is Dou Niu's right-hand man in Shenmue II. He is a member of the Yellowhead gang and is therefore often seen bribing shop keepers.
Despite Yuan's looks he is in fact a man, in drag of course. In the Japanese version of the game Yuan was voiced by a male putting on a high voice. This was deemed inappropriate for the PAL version of the game so all references of "he" were changed to "she". However, anyone who played Shenmue II on the Dreamcast that knew Japanese would be able to clearly here the characters referring to Yuan as a "he" despite the subtitle changes.
