Overview
Vanguard is the only mini-boss that is killable twice in a single playthrough. The player first sees him at the end of the tutorial level, where they are almost sure to be defeated by him. The next time he appears is at theShrine of Storms (Location), standing guard over a shortcut.
Defeating him in the tutorial level nets the player the Grey Demon's Soul, as well as another pleasant secret. In the Shrine of Storms he is not at all difficult to defeat (if you know what you are doing) like many of the major demons. Defeating him in the Shrine of Storms gives the player the Grey Demon's Soul, as well. Vanguard will still be present in the Shrine of Storms if you kill him in the tutorial, and you can get his Demon's Soul a second time.
