Uncle is an old retired thief who was in charge of keeping John Marston's ranch in shape while he was gone. He didn't do a very good job.

Overview
Uncle is a recurring character in the Red Dead (Franchise) series. He is voiced by Spider Madison (Person) in Red Dead Redemption, and James McBride (Person) in the sequel.
Background
Uncle was born in the fall of 1849. Much of the information around his past is disputed by fellow gang members. According to Uncle, both his parents died when he was nine years old and he would later be known as the "One-shot kid". At some point in his later life, he joined the Van der Linde gang headed by Dutch van der Linde (Character). He introduces the gang to a young prostitute named Abigail Roberts, who John Marston falls in love with.
Story
John Marston (Character) constantly rags on Uncle for doing a poor job of maintaining his family's ranch while he was gone. The two constantly bicker back and forth, and it doesn't help that Uncle's old age causes him to fall asleep on the ground and be lazy. Uncle himself is disgusting; evidence of vomit is obvious when you see the nasty green stain on his beard. Unfortunately, when Edgar Ross and a battalion of soldiers attack their ranch, Uncle takes a bullet and dies on the porch after helping to fend them off.
Personality
Uncle is portrayed as being drunk and lazy. Despite his unwillingness to work, he is still well liked and respected by the Van der Linde gang.
Trivia
- There is a prevalent fan theory that Uncle is related to Red Harlow (Character), protagonist of Red Dead Revolver. Rockstar Games has rejected this theory.
