Tetsuro Hoshino is the protagonist of Leiji Matsumoto's Galaxy Express 999. As a young boy, he watched as his mother was killed by the villainous Count Mecha for sport, and from that day forward, harbored the desire to kill the count out of revenge. When the mysterious beauty Maetel (Character) offers him a seat on the Galaxy Express 999, he accepts, and embarks on a journey to fulfill his mission while learning what it truly is that separates flesh and blood humans from their mechanized counterparts.
