Overview

The Snake is 1 of 4 souls available to collect in the 2nd Chapter of Wytchwood (after First Thing's First). His tent lies within the magical Fairgrounds whose traveling "door" has temporarily stopped at the center of the Lake in the Forest map. Some crafting materials necessary to complete this quest involve venturing out into the Swamp and Fields.

I. Song of the Snake

From the Forest Portal, head north and slightly to the right toward the water until a wooden bridge is reached.
Cross the wooden bridge and head east and upward along the water's edge.
Speak to the Weeping Maiden.
Receive quest, "Reveal the Source of the Sounds by the Forest Lake"

II. Reveal the Source of the Sounds by the Forest Lake

Head west along the water's edge until a dialogue is triggered.

Use the Witch's Eye to hover over the outline of an invisible figure nearby.
Learn the Illusive Pixie's weaknesses, Unveiling Powder + Catching Net.

Walk north, across the lake water and into the Portal to the Uncanny Fairgrounds.

From the Silk Tent, head slightly south and to the right to a figure wearing green and strumming a stringed instrument
Interact with the Weary-Eyed Bard
Receive Quest, "Return to the Weeping Maiden in the Forest"

Exit the Uncanny Fairgrounds by way of the portal at the south of the map
Cross the Lake path and interact with the Weeping Maiden

From the Weeping Maiden, head directly east until a large tree with several nests can be seen.
Approach the Pixie Nest until it is highlighted in range and interact with it
Receive sub-quest, "Destroy the Fairy Shrines in the Forest"

Fairy Totem #1

From the Pixie Nest, go south until the path is reached and follow it east.
When the path bends south, go north off of the path instead to the circle of mushrooms with a tree inside.
The hostile Dryad tree guarding the <ins>Fairy Totem</ins> can be avoided if the player lures the creature far enough away from the mushroom circle. Be sure to avoid getting hit since the Witch will be flung far away when taking damage. If taking the avoidance route, skip the next step.

Fairy Totem #2

From the Weeping Maiden, follow the water's edge north until a mushroom circle with three Goblins can be seen
The hostile Gobins guarding the <ins>Fairy Totem</ins> are VERY difficult to avoid. The player must lure all three creature far enough away from the mushroom circle AND have time to interact with the <ins>Fairy Totem</ins>. Be sure to avoid getting hit since the Witch will be flung far away when taking damage. If taking the avoidance route, skip the next step.
(Optional, recommended) Neutralize the (x3) Goblins
Use the Witch's Eye on one of the Goblins

From the Forest map, head to the south-east most section of the map and exit to the Fieldward Path

___ Grain (x3) : Fields --> from the Forest exit, head southward on the path, slightly to the west into the wheat fields --> Use Shears + <ins>Ripe Grain</ins> --> pick up Grain

___ Hopper Leg (x1) : --> Hopper randomly spawns on the map, look around for them on the floor --> Use Catching Net on Hopper

___ Dreadful Doll (x1) : 'Menu, Grimoire '--> Craft Dreadful Doll

'Menu,' Tools --> Assign Dreadful Doll to a tool slot --> Get close enough for Goblins for one of them to be highlighted --> Use Dreadful Doll
The Dreadful Doll creates a mild range field around the Witch that will affect Goblins as they get near her
The Goblins will be incapacitated for approximately 20 seconds, then will resume being hostile
Interact with the <ins>Fairy Totem</ins> (a pile of colorful rocks) in the mushroom circle to destroy it.

Fairy Totem #3

From the Weeping Maiden, follow the water's edge west, cross the bridge and head north to the mushroom circle
The hostile Guard Dog near the <ins>Fairy Totem</ins> can easily be avoided if the player lures the creature far enough away from the mushroom circle. Be sure to avoid getting hit since the Witch will be flung far away when taking damage. If taking the avoidance route, skip the next step.
(Optional) Neutralize the Guard Dog

Return to the Weeping Maiden and interact
At the dialogue prompt, select the option for the 3/3 Mirror Shard
Receive Magic Mirror
Recieve quest, "Confront the Snake in the Fairgrounds"

X. Confront the Snake in the Fairgrounds

Head back into the
'Menu,' Tools --> Assign Magic Mirror to a tool slot --> Walk toward the Snake until it is in highlighted range --> Use the Magic Mirror
Receive quest, "Collect the Soul of the Snake"

Pick up the Cracked Mirror.
