Silas is prisoner in Denerim that is freed by Lelianawhen she is trying to make her escape. After the escape Silas said that he was imprisoned for poaching animals and Commander Raleigh was having "fun" with him (torturing). He says that after helping Leliana he will redeem himself by joining The Chantry. Silas also replaces Tug, who is killed in the dungeon. They are both Warrior class fighters.
