Shub-Niggurath is the final boss of Quake, the evil threat who was codenamed "Quake" in the story section of the instructions manual. She is invulnerable to normal attacks and can only be defeated by telefragging.

Overview
Shub-Niggurath is the ancient demoness responsible for wreaking havoc on Earth in Quake (Game) . She rests on an island surrounded by molten lava in her lair and is accompanied by many of her most powerful minions. Her name is borrowed from the mythology of H.P. Lovecraft's writings.
Role
As the final boss of Quake, Shub-Niggurath is revealed to be the codenamed threat that Quake Guy (Character) sets out to destroy. She is immobile and cannot be hurt by conventional weapons, but through careful observation the player will notice a moving teleportation platform that floats around her lair and through Shub-Niggurath herself. With careful timing, the player must telefrag her in order to beat the game.
