Ryo Watanabe is the antagonist during EA's 2007 racing game, Need for Speed: ProStreet.

Ryo Watanabe is the 'Showdown King', as he proclaims himself. Ryo is a racer in ProStreet. However, as well as being a racer he is also supposed to be the world's best driver. Ryo is extremely cocky, and is identifiable due to his unique car choice: a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X. Ryo leads a professional team, known as the Apex Glides. The team is sponsored by Apex, so technically their name would be the Glides. Ryo makes the mistake of taunting Ryan Cooper at the opening of the game, saying that he lacks the skill to drive well in a competitive environment. However, for those who complete ProStreet, they will discover Ryo's image is based around his own mouth. He proclaims himself the best, but he is far from it. He has two Evo X Mitsubishis, which are identifiable by their different spoilers.
